Do you have a go-to pair of sweats? Maybe they’re a little worn-out or feel a little too athletic. Let’s find you a new pair.

Good/Better/Best

Sweatpants

These days, the best sweatpants are less about what you're wearing to the gym and more about what you pull on when you want to take it easy. Or when you want to add some cozy comfort to get a fit off. Right now, a pair of sweats hits that sweet spot: They're not-too-heavy, not-too-light and seemingly go with any and everything in your closet. Want to pair it with a denim jacket and some low-profile sneakers? Perfect. Throw them on with an Oxford cloth shirt and some loafers? They look damn good like that, too.

You just need to know the right ones to pull on. And in 2025, that's a pair that's ultra-soft, wider in the leg and an open (non-elastic) hem that puddles just slightly over the top of your shoe. And while most come in a range of colorways, you can't ever go wrong with classic heather grey. We pulled on over a dozen pairs of sweats—from designer labels and old school athletic brands—to find the best ones for your money.
