Good/Better/Best

Camel Coats

The classics never go out of style. But some return with a vengeance. And right now, as overcoats are enjoying a serious resurgence, the camel coat—a lighter, more relaxed take on the usual dark overcoat—is king. Maybe it's the American Giglio mood board images, but there's a certain '70s swagger to the outerwear. In real life, you'll find them on perpetually cool guys like David Beckham and designer Jerry Lorenzo.

That's because the trusty top coat can quite literally be pulled on over any and everything in a man's closet. The clean lines and universally-flattering fit makes every man look a little taller, a little slimmer and little wealthier. The go-with-everything neutral shade of beige has the power to instantly upgrade whatever you're wearing. On warm fall afternoons, toss it on over a T-shirt and jeans. Then, when the cold really sets in, add your favorite layering pieces and a wool beanie. As for how much you should spend and the details that matter, that's up to you. But we've narrowed down your choices to three of the best buys on the market today.
