Your Thanksgiving Packing List

Thanksgiving can be a great holiday if you don't buy into the bullshit and stress that can creep into an otherwise perfect four-day weekend full of food, drink and old friends. It's a time to relax, reconnect with loved ones and remember what you're grateful for—be it family, your health or simply the fact that you were one of the lucky ones who escaped your hometown. But what should you pack for a short trip that combines equal parts bonding and eating, lounging and shopping?

Don't just indulge your appetite—make sure to put some effort into your appearance. Here's what you should have in your suitcase to arrive in style, make a good impression at the dinner table and feel great the whole time. Don't overpack. Just bring a handful of stylish essentials—items that can be mixed and matched as needed.

Your Packing List

The Day Before

Maybe you're traveling today or you're already back in town and ready to hit up the local watering hole with your friends from high school. Perhaps you're bonding with your siblings out by the fire-pit. Either way, this calls for relaxed, but stylishly seasonal layers that are cool and comfortable.

Clockwise, from top left:

Vintage 505 jean,
$36 by Levi's Secondhand

Long-sleeve polo,
$132 by Body of Work

Loopwheeled T-shirt,
$32.99 / $28.99 by Bronson Mfg Co.

Ragg calf socks,
$20 by Bombas

Travel-sized “By the Fireplace” cologne,
$35 by Maison Margiela

Suede Boston slide,
$160 by Birkenstock

Turkey Day

The key to this outfit is managing to look dressed up and put together, while ensuring you're comfortable enough to keep up with all the food and festivities. A cardigan sweater is a forgiving top (which can be removed if you get the meat sweats) and some pleated cords make for a dressy look without feeling too formal.

Clockwise, from top left:

Pleated corduroy pant,
$145 by Alex Mill

Aberdeen combed cardigan,
$167 by Manastash

Secret wash shirt,
$98 by J.Crew

Italian oiled leather belt,
$29.90 by UNIQLO

Lug-soled Weejun loafer,
$185 by G.H.Bass

The Day After

Your Black Friday plans can go one of three ways. One, you're laying around the house all day, focused on relaxing, leftovers and football. Two, you're hitting the gym to work off last night's epic feast. Or three, you're braving the crowds to score some epic IRL deals. Whichever you choose, dress comfortably.

Clockwise, from top left:

Technical insulated jacket,
$295 by Finisterre

Loopwheeled T-shirt,
$32.99 / $28.99 by Bronson Mfg. Co.

Oversized boucle sweater,
$80 / $60 by Abercrombie & Fitch

Brushed fleece sweatpant,
$110 by Reigning Champ

Jasper hiking sneaker,
$170 by Gramicci x KEEN

Sunday sock,
$24 by American Trench

5 Stylish Items to Buy This Week

We'll let you in on a little secret. The Barbour and Noah collaboration sold out quickly (no surprise there), but most people only went to Noah's site. Barbour still has a few pieces available—including what many of us consider the star of the collection. The reworked Bedale jacket ($990) takes inspiration from Barbour's signature waxed hacket—an iconic piece that's been a signature of the brand for four decades. Only this time, it's been elevated, cut from genuine Casentino wool in a rich orange colorway. Grab it while you can.
