Good/Better/Best

Pour-Over Coffee Sets

If you take your coffee seriously, then you might already ascribe to the pour-over method of brewing. Sure, it takes a little longer than flicking the switch on a countertop coffee maker, but the reward for the extra work is twofold. First, you get a superior cup of coffee. Whenever you make coffee this way, the taste is pure and balanced—you really pick up the notes of your roast or the provenance of the bean. But secondly, is the ritual of making yourself some coffee. You heat your water to a piping 200°F and place a filter in the dripper and give it a quick rinse with the hot water. Add ground coffee to the filter, then slowly stream in your water in a circular motion to “bloom” the coffee and really seep out the flavor. Continue pouring until the desired amount is brewed.

The whole process takes about three minutes but by the end, you're so filled with anticipation that you'll swear you've never had a better cup of coffee. The real question, then, is what type of set-up do you want or need? We pored over all the pour-overs on the market to bring you three of the best that will suit any budget or need.
