The Gifts Your Mom Actually Wants
You’ve got about three weeks to find a gift for the extraordinary woman in your life—Mother's Day is May 14th. But instead of thinking of her as the mom to whom you owe a phone call, think of her as an actual person. Is she the type of person who appreciates a quality leather tote or delectable coffee? Is she the active type, always on the move? Or does she adore (yet never treats herself to) luxe self-care products? The key is to recollect what she loves and then find something she enjoys. Hopefully, your mom always feels appreciated, but use this day to make sure she feels extra special. Here are our tried-and-true gift ideas for every type of mom on your list.

5 Stylish Items to Buy This Week
Is this the bag you need this summer? The internet seems to think so. UNIQLO's surprisingly simple “round mini shoulder bag” ($19.90) has earned the top spot on The Lyst Index, a quarterly report that ranks the trendiest products and the most popular brands. The big draw, of course, is the price. But it's also a sleek, simple and functional design—the sloped style looks akin to high-end designer bags and it packs a surprising amount of gear into the lightweight pouch. Plus, it comes in a range of colors (but the black or navy will always be a smart choice).

CeraVe Body Wash
I’m a pretty tough guy, but I have sensitive skin, and it’s also on the dry side. Which means I’ve tried all sorts of high-end body washes and bar soaps, but what really works best for me is this hydrating body wash from CeraVe. In between seasons, as my allergies begin to regulate for spring, my skin gets so dry because some days are warm and other days are cold and rainy. In case you didn’t know, the weather can really jack up your allergies and skin. CeraVe’s body wash has three essential ceramides—the compounds found naturally in the skin and make up 50% of the lipids in the skin barrier. A healthy skin barrier helps seal in moisture and keep out harmful elements. When I'm in the shower, I put about two quarter-sized drops in my hand and lather up. The body wash is formulated with hyaluronic acid to help control the skin’s natural moisture and glycerin to further hydrate skin. This is a no-nonsense formula. It’s fragrance-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, soap-free, and accepted by the National Eczema Association—perfect for someone with eczema like myself or anyone who gets irritated by fussy and overly fragranced body products. Whenever I get out of the shower, I pat dry to lock in the moisture and use the brand’s moisturizing cream for further hydration. This leaves my skin feeling excellent out of the shower—healthy and hydrated, never tight or sticky. One thing I love about the body wash is how accessible it is—when I run out, I can pick it up at my local grocery store or have it delivered the next day from Amazon. Also, if I’m ever traveling and leave it behind, there’s typically a nearby drug store that always carries CeraVe. One thing about me is that I hate the feeling of having dry skin, and this body wash takes cake for being the optimal preventative product.

“
When I’m thinking about dressing, the main thing I’m thinking about is not necessarily the pieces that I’m wearing—although that’s important when I’m buying stuff—it’s more about how I would put them together.”

Not all ties are born equal. Understanding what makes a tie will allow you to know what to look for in terms of quality and make a selection that is built to last.”

“
In the end, minimally-adorned, well-constructed garments might not turn heads the minute you leave the store, but what they lack in instant gratification they make up for in longevity.”
