The Ultimate Valentine’s Day Gift List
Valentine’s Day is about two weeks away and if you're in a relationship, there's a certain expectation that attention must be paid. Your affection cannot, of course, be measured in dollars and cents. Then again, show up empty-handed and you'll undoubtedly find yourself in the doghouse. The struggle is real—have you been together long enough for jewelry? Not long enough? What we do know is that you don't have to go nuts on silly, frilly Cupid-themed crap. Step away from the oversized teddy bear, heart-shaped jewelry or boilerplate red roses. Think outside the box and pick up something the man or woman in your life might actually like (and use).

Stuff We Swear by
a fabric shaver
We’re all wearing a lot of sweaters these days and no matter how good the quality of your knitwear, the yarn it’s made of will eventually start to pill. Some more than others, of course. But over multiple wearings and washings, even the most expensive cashmere sweater will eventually pill—sprouting a field of unsightly little furballs caused by short, broken fibers. But that’s why fabric shavers were invented. Like an electric razor for your sweater, its job is to shear off pills on all kinds of clothing, from knitwear and outerwear to even your sofa cushions, so they look new again and last longer.
And while there are countless models out there, one performs better than all the rest (even the stylish, bougie one that I wish worked better than it does). But don’t take my word for it. Conair’s sweater shaver boasts more than 86,000 five-star reviews on Amazon, was recommended to me by Derek Guy (the menswear guy) and I saw it in the kit of a celebrity stylist once. I’ll admit, it’s not much to look at. It’s a little cheap looking, but the thing gets to work fast. The gadget's large two-inch head covers more area with each pass and it can be adjusted to depill various weights of fabric. Plus, the transparent lint bin catches all those pesky pills and you’re able to see when you need to dump it out. It’s easy to use, really affordable and the newest model is even rechargeable, so you don’t have to worry about buying batteries. If you don’t have one yet, this is the one to get.
