The New Shoes on Our Radar
Is it time to re-evaluate the shoes in your closet? Maybe this list will help get you going in the right direction. There are so many great shoes dropping these days, we thought we would pull a few of our current favorites to showcase. From a pair of ’90s-inspired boots and sneakers to some off-road trail shoes, these are the shoes our team can’t stop talking about.
Our Picks
A popular HOKA design, the Anacapa Breeze is back and more breathable than ever. The slightly modified design features an ultra-ventilated upper and the same sharp focus on sustainability, thanks to the 100% recycled polyester mesh. Anatomical Achilles construction ensure a comfortable step whether you're hiking or just trucking across town. These are some weather-resistant leaf-kickers that look as good with your trail pants as they do with your regular weekend jeans.

Checking in With …
Wythe
You'd be forgiven if you thought Wythe was a heritage brand. The label, founded by Peter Middleton, puts a stylish spin on perennial menswear icons, blending American sportswear with references from rugged Western wear and a bit of East Coast prep. The brand's emphasis on quality is what you really notice when you put on a Wythe piece. And now more people have that chance to sample the wares since the brand opened a pop-up shop in New York. The Wythe store, at 59 Orchard is open every day from 11 am to 7 pm, now through the end of the year. We hit up Peter to see how things are going in the world of brick and mortar.
What items are you guys most excited about in the shop for fall?
It's been exciting to launch new knitwear. All the knitwear is hand-knit in Peru with local yarns in natural tones. It's something that I love designing, and the finished product is fantastic.
Alpaca cowichan, $598 by Wythe
What’s the vibe of the customer these days?
The vibe of the customer is still pretty much the same, except now we can meet new customers who have never heard of the brand but are interested in the displays we have put in the windows or are intrigued by the signage.
Barleycorn tweed polo coat, $1,798 by Wythe
Current staff favorites?
The polo coat and the alpaca cotton horseshoe beanies—but still a little too warm in NYC for those, so most of our guys (myself included) are wearing the half-zip daily.

How did the Huckberry collab come about?
Huckberry was one of our first stockists—and we've had a good relationship. Their buyer wanted to develop a collaboration and wanted to support Wythe by doing it.
Feathered lambskin ranch jacket, $998 by Wythe x Huckberry
In our first meeting, he asked me if there was anything I hadn't done or was too nervous to do because I didn't have the support, and immediately, I knew it was to venture into leather. I had been talking with an incredible factory in Hong Kong, but was still pretty nervous to commit because we hadn't sold any leather before. The team at Huckberry committed and entrusted the design process with us.
What was the inspiration behind the pop-up interiors?
With everything we are doing, I have wanted inspiration and history to be upfront and center. The store features were inspired a lot by the American Shaker's way of building and working. I loved the rhythm and colors they used in all their meeting houses. We tried the pegs in our office about a year ago and loved the function of it and knew it would be even better in a large-scale construction in the shop.
Why is now the ideal time to invite your customers to a physical storefront?
You keep reading that “retail is dead”, but as many people have corrected, it's actually “boring retail is dead”. Mike and I had dreamed of creating a physical environment for a while and luckily that gave us an incubation period to think of what that environment should look and feel like. We wanted to wait until we could do our best on our first physical pop-up space and ensure it wasn't just a bunch of painted walls with U-Line racks.
Drop to Watch For
Blackstock & Weber founder Chris Echevarria is debuting his clothing line Academy today at noon ET. The 27-piece collection is rooted in Ivy League aesthetics, military-inspired pieces, and tailoring. All garments are manufactured in New York City, working directly with mills from Japan, Italy and Great Britain. It's another step into the creative mind of Echevarria and a no-brainer pairing everything with his already infamous loafers.
