Packing List
What to Wear for Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving can be a great holiday if you don't buy into the bullshit and stress that can creep into an otherwise perfect four-day weekend full of food, drink and old friends. It's a time to relax, reconnect with loved ones and remember what you're grateful for—be it family, your health or simply the fact that you were one of the lucky ones who escaped your hometown. But what should you pack for a short trip that combines equal parts bonding and eating, lounging and shopping? Don't just indulge your appetite—make sure to put some effort into your appearance. Here's what you should have in your suitcase to arrive in style, make a good impression at the dinner table and feel great the whole time. Don't overpack. Just bring a handful of stylish essentials—items that can be mixed and matched as needed.

I usually walk around the house in socks, but it’s getting too cold. Any ideas for stylish and warm house shoes?
- Steven
I'm right there with you Steven. My current place has a polished concrete floor and socks just ain't cutting it anymore. I was considering these sturdy sherpa slippers from the sock masters at Bombas. They look a bit like if Patagonia remade a pair of Birkenstocks from one of their fleeces. Of course, you could get virtually the same pair, cut from cozy sweatshirt material from UNIQLO for less than twenty bucks. Or you could go for the more classic moccasin style from Minnetonka or these mule-like loafers from Madewell. They're handsome enough to wear outside, but they've also got a warm, recycled fleece lining that's ideal for padding around your place.

Traversing the city in the autumn sunshine with our friend Kévis Manzi, we captured both Drake’s Perennial favourites and some special new season highlights, including corduroy western shirts, a one of a kind shearling car coat that could have been plucked straight out of a New Wave classic, Fair Isle knitwear, and our long waxed-cotton Coverall jacket, along with quilted vests for seasonal layering.
