Since it’s Monday morning, I figured it’d be a good time to re-up on a new coffee grinder. Well … that, and mine broke on me, so I needed to find a replacement ASAP.

Three Waysto Wear

The Sweater Polo

Cashmere long-sleeve polo

When you think of heirloom gifts, you think of items like watches or blankets. But what about a cashmere sweater? Thirty years after a cashmere sweater was made that his dad passed down to him, Todd Kozan was inspired to create his brand. Billie Todd offers a luxurious collection of men's knitwear that blends classic construction with a modern sensibility.

Designed in Boston, Billie Todd produces their knitwear in Hawick, Scotland. The cashmere has a great weight to it thanks to the Scottish yarns that are produced by Todd & Duncan, the world's leading cashmere yarn spinners with over 150 years of producing soft yet strong material using sustainable production techniques. Also, “Billie” is an endearing Scottish word, meaning lifelong companion—much like the sweater you'll own for the next few decades, at least.

Polo sweaters are definitely having a moment this fall, as brands like Norse Projects, Buck Mason and Alex Mill are all offering some great options. Billie Todd just recently launched their own knit polo, which I'm already a fan of. The brand created a three-button style that's casual enough on its own or dressed up under a blazer. They employ a classic (yet often overlooked due to the additional time and yarn it requires) technique called the Milano stitch, which ensures the collar keeps its structure, even when layered. It makes for a small, but appreciated detail to this menswear staple. Personally, I can't stand when the collar of a sweater polo is flimsy and gets all bunched up whenever a jacket is over it. We caught up with the man behind the cashmere to see what he suggests pairing with the new polo.

The collection spans six pieces (in both king and queen sizes), and marks the first time Parachute has worked with logo imagery (in this case, the tonal Kith monogram). Available in shades of white, tan and sunset-ish dusty mauve, the sets include a fitted sheet, a monogram-printed top sheet and a duvet cover, along with a pair of monogram-printed pillowcases and two shams.

Gevi Coffee Grinder

Gevi coffee grinder

Getting out of bed and making coffee is essential for my day to start on the right note. Last Monday, before I prepared my beloved bean broth, I poured some freshly roasted Colombian into the coffee grinder, pressed the button down and … silence. I took the lid off and looked around to see if there was a coffee bean stuck in the blades, but there wasn’t. I picked up my phone and had to order one ASAP. Thanks to Amazon’s quick delivery, I received a new one in less than 72 hours.

I picked up the Gevi coffee grinder. I already own an espresso machine by the brand, so I thought, why not stay with the home team and pick up the grinder? (The 2,300+ positive ratings were pretty reassuring, too.) I also have a pour-over and French press—and all three methods can be accommodated by the grinding machine. There are also digital directions that come with the purchase of how many seconds each preferred coffee ground should be. So as long as you can count, you’ll be able to enjoy optimal brewing methods for your morning mud.

The grinder also came with a two-way scoop and brush, one side is to measure the beans out of the bag, and the other side is to brush off the ground residue before rinsing your grinder. The best feature is that it’s noiseless. No need to worry if your partner or kids are sleeping—gone are the days when I had to go in the bathroom and turn the fan on for 12 seconds while I’m grinding my beans for my pour-over. I’ve had coffee grinders in the past, but this one is my favorite—from the sheer fact that it grinds the beans evenly, it's easy to clean, and extremely quiet, so you can grind in peace.
